A Better DJ should be called “Disaster DJ” in my opinion. I compared several company’s reviews and finally decided to go with a bigger company rather than a private DJ due to having a backup if needed due to possible sickness. Michael, the owner seemed responsive to my questions and assured me he screened his DJs throughly. Unfortunately, this was not the case. When Will aka “DJ Chill” came to the venue he was prompt, but I soon learned promptness was his only good quality. He played all the wrong songs during the ceremony, didn’t use a mic so the guests could hear the vows, and the reception was a total disaster. He didn’t download ANY of the playlist and tried to rely on streaming, which ended in NO music at all during the reception. He didn’t make any of the announcements or introductions and the wedding party had to yell announcements without a mic. In an attempt to save himself he played some music not in our desired genre he had downloaded, which was vulgar and offensive to our guests especially with children. Then the real deal breaker was the first dance, which kept stopping during the song, after the fifth interuption the bride got so upset she ran off the dance floor in tears. Now I will say it took awhile to get a hold of the owner, but he did finally respond and apologized. And I did end up getting my money back, but I will never be able to make this up to my daughter and son in law and be able to give them the wedding of their dreams. The owner says he will never use this DJ again. But I ask how is that going to help me and my family now? He should really take a better interest in screening his DJs, especially given the name of his company, A better DJ. Therefore, I would NOT recommend A Better DJ and wished I had chosen one of the smaller companies, that take a personal interest in their company and their ultimate success. This is my honest review of the day’s event as they occurred on 10/11/2025. I have posted this to both Nationwide photography and Nationwide DJs as they are the same.

I can't apologize enough for the issues that Willie had with his laptop, it was a total fluke. We have fully refunded you and also your mom for the retainer. This is not something that can be expected by our clients, we have done almost 17,000 weddings and had less than 10 complaints in 26 years. We wish you two the very best in your life together.

Daniel did an incredible job at our wedding and helped elevate the night into something special. During our conversation a couple days before the event we planned out the vibe and structure for the wedding and he knew exactly the kind of questions to be answered, which I hadn't thought of previously. On the day, he was able to work on the fly for any changes we wanted and incorporated it seamlessly. Using the cues I would give via text, Daniel was basically the one that moved the wedding along, herding people to their seats, starting up the special sections; he was the backbone for the whole night and we couldn't have been more satisfied. When the dance floor opened up at the end, he mixed together the playlist of suggested songs we had and inserted others that created a perfect flow that exceeded our expectations. Very highly recommend!

Nationwide Wedding DJs - A Better DJ And Photographer was an excellent choice for our wedding. Their communication throughout the planning process was exceptional - they were always responsive and helpful in answering our questions. On the day of the wedding, they were on top of their game, keeping the music and entertainment flowing seamlessly. They offered us many choices for songs and playlists, allowing us to customize the vibe exactly how we wanted it. This was the second occasion for which I used A Better DJ & Photographer. as always, the staff was very communicative, professional and engaging from the pre-event introductions to the event day. Everything about this evening was intentional; from the menu to the music and Xavier and Aubry exceeded my expectations in capturing my vision. I believe a good DJ is one who is intuitive and can read an audience, and a good photographer is one who can capture moments without you being aware. Thank you Michael, Aubrey, and Xavier for making my moment memorable for me and my guests. I highly recommend A Better DJ & Photographer!
