Nestled in the charming seaside town of Harwich Port, MA, American Stems is a boutique floral design studio where blooms get the royal treatment—and every petal has a purpose. We specialize in bespoke wedding design and floral artistry, but really, we’re just out here living our best flower-filled lives. Our founder and head designer, Kelsey Harris, launched AS in 2018 after spending time on a specialty cut flower farm in central Massachusetts. With her hands in the dirt and her heart in full bloom, Kelsey discovered her superpower: transforming nature’s finest into floral magic.

Our designs are all about sparking conversations, creating soulful moments, and reminding you to stop and smell the roses—or at least admire the ranunculus! We’re proud to source from local farmers, embrace nature’s bounty, and design with an intentional, "why-not-throw-in-one-more" variety. From Cape Cod to The Islands and beyond, Kelsey and her talented team are ready to bring your floral dreams to life, one lovingly placed petal at a time.

Working with Kelsey & American Stems was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! I never thought that florals would be something I noticed at my wedding, but American Stems completely changed my tune on that. On my first inquiry call, I still was not entirely sure of what I wanted my wedding florals to look like, and Kelsey was able to guide me and help pinpoint my vision. Her mood board that she created as part of her proposal absolutely nailed it. You can tell how thoughtful and intentional she is when creating her designs. When I wanted some changes closer to the event, Kelsey responded quickly and was able to execute them flawlessly! Kelsey has such a talent for making your flowers look unique and like they were just picked out of a garden. Her work is so stunning and stands out from a lot of the carbon copy wedding flowers you see on social media. Throughout the evening (and even after the wedding!), so many guests came up to me to tell me how stunning the flowers were. Kelsey's work set the tone for such a warm and magical evening, and I truly cannot thank her and her team enough!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about American Stems – working with Kelsey was a dream! From our initial consultation and throughout the whole process, she truly understood our vision and brought it to life in the most beautiful way. I didn't have a specific idea for my flowers or décor other than wanting a few colors and an organic/ beachy aesthetic, and she exceeded all expectations. The ceremony flowers were breathtaking and seeing them for the first time as I walked down the aisle was one of the highlights of my day. My bouquet could not have been more beautiful, and the bridesmaids’ bouquets were stunning and so unique. Our reception was in the ballroom at Ocean Edge, and I totally relied on Kelsey’s expertise to help soften the space. In addition to our flowers, Kelsey also designed the tablescapes. The garden inspired floral arrangements combined with candles, driftwood and shells transformed the room from a corporate ballroom to a cozy, beachside dinner party setting. She also came up with the idea to use oyster shell candles – which I loved and surprised us with a beautiful arrangement in front of the band stand! Truly went above and beyond. I received so many compliments on the florals and tables. Kelsey is super responsive, easy to chat with and run ideas by, cognizant of budget and SO talented. We are so grateful for American Stems - highly recommend!!!

American Stems was a pleasure to work with for our wedding florals. From the very beginning, the team was incredibly responsive to our emails and set up a call to fully understand our vision for the day. They took the time to discuss all the details, from the bridal bouquet to the ceremony arrangements to the reception decor. On the day of, their work exceeded our expectations - the florals were absolutely stunning, with the most gorgeous blooms I've ever seen. I loved the wicker baskets they used for our ceremony, and each individual flower was of amazing quality. The attention to detail in the vases, candle holders, and ribbons was incredible. American Stems truly helped make our wedding day look and feel magical.
