VanDee Photo is ran by, me! Alyssa VanDusen. I have been photographing most of my life but VanDee Photo was born in 2021 I am located in NW OH and primarily serves this area- but have never turned down the chance to travel. I specialize in a very hands off documentary approach which is the BEST for anyone who feels like maybe staring into the lens is a bit awkward (Guilty!) This specialty gives me the freedom to document life as it is. That's why photography became a thing after all ( ; Since I have to get to know you guys to plan a shoot that feels natural to you, all sessions require some form of consult.

Photography is so important to me because it always stays the same. Life is ever changing and we lose memory as we age. Photos and other media become our legacy. On our bad days, we can be taken visually back to = one of the best days in our lives. When we miss a loved one, we can reminisce on photos. We can look back on photos at the beach and remembering how soft your adults child hair was, and even compare it to your grand child. Photography is visual evidence of life. Life happens so quick we don't always to get to enjoy it. Photos give us the chance to go back and relive it. It is so important to capture ones beautiful life.

    I want to start by saying that the photos I did receive were truly beautiful. The photographer has real talent, and I appreciated the images that were delivered. However, my overall experience was very stressful. Several promised deadlines came and went without any proactive communication, so I was often left unsure of when to expect updates. I had to reach out every time, and after waiting five months, I wish there had been clearer communication from the start. We also faced major technical issues that resulted in me not receiving several extremely important moments from our wedding day including my first look with my uncle (who is like another dad to me), my husband’s first look with his mom, and all of our groomsmen photos. These moments are irreplaceable, and losing them was heartbreaking. Throughout the process, I was repeatedly told that she was not required to provide a refund because the issues were “technology related.” Eventually, she did refund one-third of what I paid, but it was described as being done out of “the goodness of her heart,” which added another layer of frustration given the circumstances and the amount of follow-up it took just to get answers. My intention isn’t to be rude, it’s to be honest for future couples. The photographer is talented, but the missed deadlines, communication struggles, and loss of key photos significantly affected our experience. I genuinely hope improvements are made moving forward so other couples can fully enjoy the quality of work she’s capable of.

    One of the worst people to do photos for my wedding, didnt get photos even after asking and already payed. After not responding about the photos she went MIA and still didnt send the photos once she was back online and posting. I recommend nobody goes to this business for anything. Also cyberstalks and harasses many of the people she has photographed and her husbands family. Her kids also have been neglected and the house they live in hasnt been payed on to the point where the bank is taking over

    I had a wonderful experience working with VanDee Photo for my wedding. Alyssa was quick to reply to any questions or requests I had, and she was always there when I needed her. You can tell Alyssa loves what she does - she was so friendly and quickly became a part of the family! She was with us every step of the way! She was spot on with the photos I wanted, and the ones she recommended we try came out perfectly. I would book her again and again! She was such a joy to work with and exceeded my expectations!
