How do I reserve my date?

Accepted Answer

We require 10% of your rental fee to secure your date. This is non-refundable and non-transferable. This goes toward your total venue rental balance.

What does the rental fee include?

Use of the beautifully landscaped venue grounds, our 90 x 30 greenhouse venue, private entrance and parking lot, private bridal suite, WiFi, A/V equipment, trash and recycling, restrooms, the natural woodland cedar gazebo, garment steamer, bridal kit, use of our cake knife and server, farm table, wooden chairs, 4 wooden bistro tables, hand-picked garden furniture, and custom bar.

Is there an extra fee for holding the ceremony on-site?

Yes, $1,000. We'd love to host your ceremony and reception here, so if you book both, we include 5 extra hours and our staff will handle the chairs being moved from the ceremony to reception.

What should I let my guests know about Nagelkirk Gardens?

We are an outside venue, so please dress for the occasion! Let your guests know to wear comfortable shoes (stilettos will be difficult on the lawn) and to bring a jacket.

Are outside vendors allowed?

Accepted Answer

Yes, however they must be approved in advance. It is recommended that any vendor such as caterers, photographers, DJ/band/musician to be hired for the event visit the property prior to the event date. This allows vendors that are unfamiliar with the space the opportunity to inspect the facility and eliminate any potential problems in advance.

What will happen if there's inclement weather on my event day?

We will discuss a plan for inclement weather when booking and planning your event. If you are concerned about the cold, we have heaters available to rent. We also have heat in our greenhouse venue.

Do I need to hire an event planner or coordinator?

We recommend hiring an event planner or day-of coordinator to help make sure your event runs smoothly, but it's not required.

What are my responsibilites at my event?

Accepted Answer

Securing your vendors, ensuring you have insurance in place, and clean up (we recommend either hiring a planner to help with this, or designating friends or family). We have trash receptacles, and recycling available for use. Decor and trash needs to be cleaned up, but we will dispose of any recycling or trash bags for you.

Are there restrooms available for guests?

Yes, we have two stalls in the womens restroom, and one stall in the mens/family restroom inside our Home Store. We also have two single stall bathrooms in our venue.

Is Nagelkirk Gardens available to accomodate guests in a wheelchair?

Yes, our entire property is on the ground floor. We also have accessible parking and restrooms.

Can we "potluck" the event?"

Absolutely! You will just need to coordinate all the aspects of food and beverage that a caterer would provide, including responsibility for food safety and the complete clean-up at the end of the night.

Are there any restrictions on decorations?

Accepted Answer

Decorations may not be hung with tape, wire, nails, or screws in a way that will damage the tent, gazebo, garden furniture, or venue property. All decorations must be removed without leaving damages the night of the event, by 12:00 AM (midnight). All candles must be contained or enclosed in glass. The flame must not reach higher than 2 inches below the height of the glass.

Will anyone from Nagelkirk Gardens be staffing the event?

Yes, there will be a staff member on-site to help with set up, answer any questions, troubleshoot any problems, and manage the event through the entire day.

Can guests leave their cars overnight?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Guests may leave their cars overnight in our private event parking lot. It is limited parking space, so overflow can park in our main lot. The overnight parking though would need to stay in the event lot.
