About this venue
As you walk into the Little Chapel in-the-Woods you are entering into a tradition. Located on the edge of Texas Woman’s University, the chapel is a secluded sanctuary that has held weddings since September 1939, a few months before its dedication by Eleanor Roosevelt. We have two beautiful ballrooms to host the wedding reception of your dreams! The Chapel attendant is present to set up the chapel for the wedding, set up the sound system and instruct your vendors on usage, and to oversee the facility. They will be happy to provide limited guidance and answer any questions you may have about the rehearsal or processional. If you desire full-scale coordination you are welcome to provide a planner or even a friend with experience to manage the flow of your wedding ceremony.

Greenhouse Patio and Gardens
A hidden gem in the heart of Denton.
Plan your perfect outdoor ceremony at TWU’s Gardens. Black garden chairs can be set up on the greenhouse patio or a garden location of your choosing for ceremonies. If your wedding is scheduled for the gardens & greenhouse, the Little Chapel will serve as the inclement weather site, providing you do not exceed the 110-person capacity.

Hubbard Hall Ballrooms
The newly renovated Student Union at Hubbard Hall has beautiful ballrooms perfect for your wedding reception!
The university also offers additional venues on-site, like the beautiful, historic Hubbard Hall featuring two separate ballrooms to host your reception. The professional events planners have experience executing a wide variety of events and are happy to help you plan the details of your special day.

Little Chapel in-the-Woods
An intimate setting surrounded by beautiful green landscapes.
The natural beauty that surrounds the Little Chapel is harmonized by the beautiful interior stained glass windows. The Chapel, 90 feet long by 24 feet wide, was designed by architect O’Neil Ford as a project of the National Youth Administration during the Depression, and dedicated by former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. History surrounds the Little Chapel in-the-Woods, just like every item in the chapel is stamped with an artistic touch from young women artists.

3-hour time block on the day of the ceremony | 1-hour rehearsal any day prior to the ceremony | 2-hour use of the chapel and gardens for portraits sitting any day prior to the ceremony | Chapel attendant present at the rehearsal and ceremony | 2 separate changing rooms | Candelabras | Tea light candles along the window edges | Pew clips | Unity candle stand | Access to sound system with auxiliary cord | Use of the piano and organ (organist must be from approved list).

Magical Wedding Dream Come True
Saturday November 8th 2025 10am - Our wedding turned out so beautiful it really was magical just like we always dream it would be. The universe really gifted us with such beautiful weather and calm vibes and giving us all our closest love ones to join us on that magical day. Me & My Husband wanna make a Special Thanks to everyone that was a part of this wedding. Starting with Texas Women’s University there chapel known as Little Chapel in-the-woods, There coordinator Kami such a sweetheart from lighting all the candles to being there for rehearsals.That chapel was the prettiest one in DFW .Thanks to LaToya McGowan for being wedding officiant and shining so bright up there with us looked so beautiful. Thanks to Oddits Weird and Strange taxidermy for making are adorable Wedding Mice. Thanks to Dulce Romero Beginner Cake maker for taking the challenge on our big wedding cake. Thanks My loving youngest daughter Christina she’s been there for me from the beginning helping me plan the wedding and hand crafting my bouquet of beautiful flowers and being my maid of honor . Christina,s best friend Adel Banda for helping Christina and holding my dress and opening the chapel doors. My oldest daughter being the flower girl and being by my side in the dressing room giving me love and support . Kellin my new step son being the ring holder. Thanks to my Brother Eric Sierra & his wife Lexi Sierra helping us out with everything and treating us with our wedding dinner.And to the rest of the family that showed up with there support and smiles on there faces…. We are ready for our new journey and adventures together for many many years to come ahead.

Great experience overall and would recommend to anyone! Just a tip to share with other couples - whoever they assign to manage the ceremony music, tell them to TURN UP the volume when the bride/groom exit. The crowd will be cheering and you want to also be able to hear to song playing. That was the only thing that I could find that I would have changed. Everything else was perfect!

I worked at TWU for many years in a past life, so when getting married popped up on my radar, the Little Chapel was the natural choice. I was fortuante enough to actually work AT the chapel for several years, facilitating weddings and other events in this timeless, historical building. My very intimate wedding could not have been more picture-perfect.

The Little Chapel In-The-Woods was the perfect venue for our intimate wedding ceremony. Their communication style was a great mix of email coordination before the big day and in-person support from the Chapel Assistant (whose name I'm afraid I've forgotten) during our rehearsal and ceremony. The chapel itself has such a charming, European-inspired design that instantly set the mood for our special day. The Chapel Assistant was incredibly helpful, offering suggestions that improved our ceremony and assisted where needed so we could focus on celebrating with our loved ones. Her assistance truly helped reduce our stress levels and allowed us to be fully present. Overall, the Little Chapel In-The-Woods provided an unforgettable experience that we'll cherish forever.
