Since 1977, our establishment has delighted guests in the historic Shockoe Slip with exceptional food, beverage, and service. What was once a tobacco warehouse, dating back to 1866, has become a nationally recognized dining and entertainment facility. Enhanced with furnishings from around the world, The Tobacco Company Restaurant stands as a unique and elegant fixture in Richmond’s history. For over 40 years, The Tobacco Company has been the setting of many special memories and has stood as the foundation of the Shockoe Slip. We take pride in our reputation and look forward to exceeding your expectations.

Our private space is perfect for larger gatherings
Private space that holds up to 200 guests for a catered cocktail-style reception. Hors d'oeuvres are ordered from our catering menu 3 weeks in advance, and served self-serve buffet-style. Features high-top seating, banquet tables, a dance floor, and a DJ available to book. Limited hours on Fridays and Saturdays, as the club opens to the general public at 8:00 pm.

Hidden Gem for Richmond Weddings :)
My husband and I had a rough time finding a wedding venue that felt like "us" and were almost frustrated to the point of wanting to elope (no joke). We stumbled upon Tobacco Company as an option and were surprised as we hadn't heard anything about them doing wedding events. We called to find out more and everything fell into place. We worked with Erika who is the absolute best- she was so easy to communicate with throughout the planning process and answered all of our continuous questions over the course of the 8 months leading up to the wedding event. We held our reception in the downstairs lounge area because we had around 75-80 guests. My husband and I were both familiar with Tobacco Company as a nightlife spot, but we were blown away by how beautiful it looked once prepped for a wedding event. The food was INCREDIBLE to the point that our guests all raved about how much they loved everything. We could not have been happier with our experience. If you're looking for a venue that captures Richmond charm, Tobacco Company is the perfect spot. Thank you to Erika and all of the staff that made the day so wonderful!
