Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. What started as a childhood passion grew into a lifelong pursuit of storytelling through images. I’m based in both Union, Illinois, and Florida, which allows me to capture weddings in a variety of beautiful settings. When I’m not behind the camera, I’m gardening, traveling, or spending time with my partner, Kenny, and our three pets. My work has been featured in many publications, but what truly drives me is creating honest, meaningful imagery for my couples—photos that will live on as part of their legacy.

I'm ann, the photographer behind ann rains photography! somewhere around a million years ago, i wrote an introduction post....... but i figured i'd write a new one and share what has been going on with ann rains photography. not much has changed… except i am now officially open for business in palm coast with my very own storefront studio. we are almost completely settled into the new place, and i couldn't be more excited will be announcing the grand opening date very soon.

Life around here is fueled by coffee, creativity, and a lovingly chaotic household. I’m married to Nick, a chef who owns a food truck and catering company, which means the food at home is very hard to beat. We got married in November 2025 and share our life with three dogs and three cats. We call the small town of DeLand home, where I’m equally happy traveling somewhere new or staying in and recharging. Photography has taken me to some pretty incredible places and opportunities, from photographing themed cruises like the 80s Cruise and Star Trek Cruise, to capturing weddings, families, and love stories over the years.

I understand how important it is to capture the essence of every wedding, from the small details to the big moments. My goal is to provide you with a stunning visual story of your wedding day that you can treasure for a lifetime. I specialize in not only taking the formal wedding photos, but also in documenting the entire day from start to finish. From the emotional moments of getting ready, to the grandeur of the ceremony and the joy of the reception, I strive to capture every precious memory, with a focus on capturing the love, laughter, and joy that you and your partner share on your special day.

I started photography in 2012 while in high school. I found my passion for wedding in 2017, and in 2018, at my very own wedding, was when I discovered my PURPOSE. I knew my dad was sick. Just 2 months months prior to my wedding, he had been diagnosed with ALS (lou gehrigs disease). Shortly after my wedding, his health drastically declined and he passed away. Unknowingly at the time, my photographer had captured some of the last moments of him, healthy & happy before his passing. And to this day, out of ALL 815 photos from my wedding day, the photos of my dad are my most cherished.

I LOVE CAPTURING WEDDINGS! I LOVE MY COUPLES, and I LOVE THEIR STORIES. It is a huge honor being included in the start of a couple's life journey together! It's something I don't take lightly. Your wedding photographs will be seen by family, friends, children, grand-children and world. It's the start of your legacy. I grew up flipping through my parents albums asking about all the stories behind the emotions and images captured! If I'm not behind the camera, you can find me at the beach with the family :)
