Beatnik West Town is one of my favorite venues in Chicago -- and that says a lot as I am a Wedding Planner! The decor is jaw droppingly stunning, the food & drinks are of the best quality and taste unreal, and the Bonhomme Group team makes the planning/wedding day a breeze. It's the best spot to get married if you're looking to host a unique, beautifully designed wedding and/or if you're a foodie. I personally love the Bonhomme Group experience so much that I had my own micro wedding at Celeste, a sister venue to Beatnik West Town.

We were lucky enough to book Canal Street Eatery & Market for our wedding on October 19th, 2024. Working with the Canal Street Team to create our event was absolutely incredible – everyone who works here is kind, warm and provided top tier service to us and our guests. Elise, the senior sales manager for catering and events, is an absolute rockstar. She ensured that our day went off without a hitch and worked very closely with us on all of the details that were important to us and our wedding day. She is extremely detail oriented, responsive, and above all else an incredible person. We love Elise!! Aside from the amazing team of people at Canal, the venue itself is absolutely jaw-dropping. Gorgeous high ceilings, perfectly decorated with a funky, yet simplistic design. It is truly the perfect setting for any party – and the pictures speak for themselves! We hardly added any of our own décor aside from our floral pieces and it was all the space needed. By utilizing the main dining space as well as their sister bar only a few steps away, we were able to have a seamless evening filled with delicious food, family and friends. We really cannot recommend Canal Street enough! Seriously, have your wedding here and come back again and again to relive the memories.

We celebrated our 70th birthdays and our wedding in May 2025. Our guests loved the venue (we were downstairs) and Zhou B worked with each of our vendors seamlessly from start to finish. Terrific support from Marcy throughout the planning process and her colleagues for the day of the event itself. We had approximately 120 attendees and the space worked well for a group of that size. No hesitation in recommending Zhou B as an event space and it's more appealing than the usual hotel, restaurant, or museum options. BTW, it was also nice to have ample parking for our in-town guests.

So, let me talk about the people behind the location. Their team is attentive to both clients and vendors. They make working at this location a dream for the vendors, which lets us (vendors) focus on making the clients dreams come true. This location is fun, elegant, modern, and a must book! I cannot say enough good things about the Firehouse and their incredible team. Our wedding was truly a dream come true. Every corner of the Firehouse is full of charm, character, and beauty. But even more memorable than the space itself was the team behind it. Sarah and Teddy and all of the Firehouse team went above and beyond from day one. Their guidance and support throughout the entire planning process was invaluable, especially since both my partner and I were working full time. They made everything feel seamless. We are so grateful for their care, responsiveness, and warmth. You can tell they genuinely care about their couples and treat each wedding with love. My only regret is that since I’m already married I can’t have another wedding at the Firehouse! Maybe a vow renewal in the future. Choosing Firehouse and the Firehouse team was truly one of THE best wedding decisions we made. Thank you Firehouse for making our wedding feel so special 3

Colvin House

Colvin House is an extraordinary wedding venue featuring an inviting glamorous interior, large outdoor reception areas, beautiful gardens, beach access & unforgettable views of Lake Michigan. We pride ourselves on fostering inclusivity & we strive to reduce wedding waste by having almost everything needed onsite while also allowing couples vendor flexibility. Previous residents added details reflecting the styles of grand movie theaters and the glamorous neoclassical revival flair of the 1920’s and 1930’s, giving the house a relaxed but unified mix of architectural styles. From the majestic crystal chandelier escorting you down the grand staircase to the marble fireplaces, we invite you to imagine the house is yours for the day as you invite family and friends in to celebrate your union.

Why you'll love this venue

We were drawn to Colvin House because of the mansion's historic details, but believe it truly shines when paired with the talents of Pyrite Sun, their in-house planning, catering, rentals, and floral team. We met with Sarah (Colvin's Events Manager/Owner of Pyrite Sun) to tour the space and ended up hiring Pyrite Sun for our entire wedding at Colvin House. Not only was it convenient to have everything under one roof, but we had a personalized wedding experience like no other–complete with vintage furniture, plates, and coupes, the most incredible floral from Colvin's gardens, and a customized food menu that our guests still rave about. I also love that Sarah recommends great vendors they've worked with and happily coordinates whatever you need with any other vendors you'd like to hire, as well. Overall, an incredibly special experience you won't find anywhere else. Thank you, Colvin House and Pyrite Sun, for making our vintage glamour wedding dreams come true!
