The A&H’s Maitland Art Center, originally known as the Research Studio, was founded in 1937 by visionary artist and architect J. André Smith. The center was originally a winter artist’s colony, dedicated to fostering an exploratory approach to modern art. The hundreds of original sculptural elements that adorn the structures were hand-carved by André Smith and his associates, and the center remains one of the few surviving examples of Mayan Revival architecture in the southeastern United States.

The Magnolia Room is situated at the Oldest City's most historic property, the Fountain of Youth. The property offers views of the Matanzas River. In addition to that ever-popular water view, there are exotic peacocks wandering the grounds. The Magnolia Room is a 2,500 square foot enclosed event space, with retractable bay doors opening to two open-air patios, adding an additional 2,800 square feet for additional guest seating or a dance floor. There is a private sitting room & a caterers' prep kitchen inside. The Celebration Cottage can accommodate wedding parties on their special day. Art ‘n Motion is the 18,000 square foot host building for The Assembly Room events. Located just within the historic St. Augustine city entrance, this two-story brick building is an early 1900s industrial-inspired masterpiece with modern amenities. Showcasing brick walls, handcrafted woodwork and exposed ceilings, the inside of this newly constructed building is raw yet polished. The Assembly Room at Art ‘n Motion has 4 beautiful spaces to choose from for your event. Keeping in mind that every event is unique, we have multiple packages to choose from. These packages range from one room for a more intimate event or mix and match several rooms. Included in almost every package, Art ‘n Motion also offers access to our caterers’ kitchen as well as a large amount of convenient private parking making it a rarity in downtown St. Augustine.
