We got married at Woodsgate at the Stroudsmoor last weekend and to say it was perfect would still be an understatement. All but two of our vendors were internally through the venue and they took care of everything! From food to cake to makeup and hair to decorations, the Stroudsmoor team did a fantastic job putting together such a magical day for my husband and I. Our closest guests and us stayed for the weekend and enjoyed their gorgeous rooms with woodsy views and a delicious breakfast buffet for both mornings. Throughout the weekend, the staff were friendly and personable and were a part of some of our best memories from the weekend. It’s a week later and our guests still have not stopped raving about the food and the incredible service. The price was reasonable and worth every penny! We are extremely happy we made the choice to sign with the Stroudsmoor and look forward to staying here in the future and even attending more weddings here in the future! A huge thank you to Linda, Alex, Kaylie, Corinne, Grayson, Colleen, Gina, and the rest of the Stroudsmoor Team! We are so thankful to have had such a stress free, enjoyable weekend we can remember for the rest of our lives.

Our wedding at Deity was exactly what we had envisioned. Having been to loads of weddings held in standard banquet halls or ballrooms, we were looking for a “non-traditional” venue that stood out, and Deity did exactly that. Working with Anastasia and Caio was the most seamless process that we could have hoped for. They were both extremely accommodating, understanding, and willing to work with us to ensure that the day went exactly as we had planned. We had a few unconventional requests, which were welcomed wholeheartedly and executed on flawlessly. The service and food throughout the night were amazing, with a few of our guests saying that it was the best wedding food they have ever had. The Milestone Denton, Sarah, our wedding specialist, and Mellissa our wedding coordinator made sure our wedding was everything we wanted. Sarah helped with questions before we signed the contract and was very knowledgeable. Melissa was monumental in ensuring our big day went smoothly. Mellissa exceeded our expectations. It is evident she enjoys her job and that she not only focuses on the big picture but also the little details. We used the vendors provided by Walters Weddings from the stationary, floral, bakery, photography, and videography. The cake was divine and was exactly what I wanted. Emily Chappell Productions and Alexis made our events memorable and captured us perfectly. We were lucky to have Alexis for our engagement photos, our wedding photos, and my bridal photos. I cannot thank Walters Wedding Estates, Sarah, Melissa, Alexis, and all of the vendors for making my dream wedding a reality. Not having to worry about finding vendors and having Melissa communicate with the catering team and bakery took the stress off. I highly recommend using Walters Weddings.

In 2021 my boyfriend and I attended a wedding at Olio and couldn't believe how perfect the space was. Being from the north shore, it was easy to get to which we loved. Once we got to the dinner portion of the wedding and had chicken parm (not your traditional wedding piece of chicken or steak) - we thought, this is the best wedding ever! When we got engaged in December 2023, the first, and only tour we had was at Olio. We assumed there would be no availability for 2024, but Sarah was able to secure us with the perfect date in June (just six months away). We knew we didn't want a traditional wedding, and loved the fact that Sarah supported our non-traditional, crazy ideas. When I took my grandmother to visit the space, she met Sarah and said "she's so nice and thoughtful, but you must have to be to work in this industry" I can confidently say after planning my wedding in 6 months that not all vendors are like Sarah and the team at Olio! They go ABOVE and BEYOND to help you create your perfect day. They are incredibly fast at responding, and always taking the time to reply with kindness which goes a long way. Sarah & team helped us craft the most perfect PARTY atmosphere for our 200 guests. We went with Premier as our caterer and loved being able to hire local Peabody establishments for food, shoutout to Champions Pub, Toscanas, and an INCREDIBLE grazing board by Edex Provisions (right outside of Olio!) Followed by epic late night snacks from McDonalds. Olio allowed us to create the wedding menu of our dreams :) I would absolutely recommend working with Sarah and the team at Olio. My friends and family are still raving about the space, the food, and how much fun the night was. Olio gives you the flexibility to create the day of your dreams, and the team is there to guide you along the way. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Olio & team!!

I can't say enough incredible things about Chicago Winery - from the ambiance, the staff, the inclusive packaging options, and the food/beverage - it is the perfect urban venue in the city. My husband and I knew the second we toured the space that we wanted to book ASAP and will forever be grateful that we did. Our event manager, Hulda, was STELLAR - so responsive and communicative, so friendly, and just all around a rockstar with logistics and planning. She made the experience seamless and we are so glad we got to work with her and her team. Our sales contact, Lindsay, was incredible as well and really helped to explain to us up front what our day could look like, how the packages work, and what would be feasible with our budget/guest count. Once we picked the date and the wedding got closer, we were paired with our event producer, Daniella Cimino. Daniella was nothing short of exceptional throughout our whole planning process. She made sure that all of our questions were answered, that we felt confident in the timeline of our day, and made sure to go over even the smallest of details to make sure that nothing was missed. We truly cannot thank Daniella and the event staff at The Villa enough for their professionalism, attention to detail, and hard work to ensure our day was picture-perfect. Summit Farms is the best of the best!! I can not recommend this venue enough from our first visit to our daughter’s wedding day everything was amazing!! Becca was always available with any questions or concerns we had. Mr. and Mrs. Hood were the most attentive and pleasant people we have had the pleasure of meeting. Donauschwaben's German-American Cultural Center was the perfect venue for our daughter & son-in-law’s wedding. The location to the airport, highway and hotel were ideal. Their property provided plenty of parking. The wedding was outside on a 92 day and was flawless. It was hot, but the trees were in the perfect position to shade the entire patio. The entire staff was amazing. The reception space was transformed into a beautiful space for our special celebration. Our family and friends shared with us how delicious the appetizers, meal and “aftertizers” of the homemade pretzels. Christine the Event Manager went above and beyond and made sure the day was special for everyone. She answered all of my questions, even up to the last minute. We were so impressed with how many times Christine checked in with us to make sure we were happy. We highly recommend Donauschwaben’s German-American Cultural Center.

Also, most of our guest were coming in from out of town, so it was important to us to have a fun area with lots of restaurants and accessibility without a car. This location couldn't have been better. Gabby was so helpful with answering any questions and assisting us through our wedding planning. She even helped navigate the rehearsal since our coordinator couldn't be there. Overall, we can't recommend Watson Block enough for its price, aesthetic, and service!

How much do wedding & reception venues cost?

The cost of wedding venues varies, with factors influencing cost including size, location, guest count, and, most importantly, whether things like catering and rentals are included. The more a reception venue near you includes, the higher the cost. When considering venues, try to compare prices apples-to-apples. If one venue includes catering and rentals in their pricing and the other doesn’t, you need to figure out how much additional cost those outside vendors would be to make a true comparison. Before booking, be sure you’re aware of additional costs outlined in your contract, like parking fees and weather-related considerations (adding a tent, etc.).

What questions should we ask wedding venues?

When talking with a potential venue, always ask about 1) their availability and 2) their capacity. Some popular venues book up peak season Saturdays nearly 2 years in advance—if your first choice date isn’t available, consider your flexibility on day of the week and year.
