The Tschiffely-Kent property has been a landmark along Darnestown Road since 1900. The stately mansion was built by Frederick Tschiffely, and later sold to Otis Beall Kent in 1942. The elegant property now belongs to the City of Gaithersburg, and is an ideal venue for weddings, receptions, social functions and business meetings.

The Mansion and property is owned and operated by Howard County Government's Recreation and Parks Department and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Historic Waverly Mansion is considered an outdoor venue. The property includes beautifully maintained gardens, the historic Mansion, and rustic barn. During our peak rental season, a 60x40ft event tent is included in wedding rentals. Historic Waverly provides the location and property amenities while the Permit Holder provides all vendors, including an approved full-service Caterer and Wedding Coordinator. Historic Waverly Mansion is a Howard County Park. Howard County Recreation and Park guidelines apply to all scheduled events and are different from privately owned venues.
