If I had one word to describe Falcon Film Studios, it would be SCAM. FFS was listed on the first page of vendors for photography in my search area. When I reached out to FFS for more information, Derek responded rapidly. He was very pleasant and responded quickly- at NO point in these conversations did Derek or FFS mention that all staff are contracted individuals. This is also not mentioned on their FB, website, or knot profiles. Moving forward, my fiancé and I spoke with Derek on the phone as well as by email and were happy with all the answers provided to our initial questions, however, as soon as we signed the contract and put a deposit down, communication slowed way down, to the point I could hardly get any information on the complimentary engagement session. This was the first red flag. With increasing frustration, we had the engagement session done & was only contacted the day of to get information on where to meet & who the photographer would be. The session was fine, however, my maid of honor was the one recommending poses versus the actual photographer! Then another red flag happened when we got our engagement photos back the same day as they were shot…these pictures had VERY little to no editing when provided, despite the advertisement of completely retouched images. Another red flag, Derek has attempted to threaten me with legal action for downloading these images after they were released to me for personal use. He reports that no use authorization was provided, however, in the very email the images were sent to me in states “please let me know if you have any questions or need any assistance downloading”. Along with the photography package I bought, videography, DJ, & photobooth services. The contract stated that we could choose our photographer & videographer, however, that’s not true. Despite asking many times, I never once got a portfolio of the photographers or videographers who worked for FFS. Instead, I would get an example of work from someone they had chosen and wanted me to see or I was told “we assigned our very best” with no choice at all. With the limited choices we had, we ended up agreeing to a videographer/photographer, only to be told that the individual was not available for our wedding. Up until I chose to cancel my contract with FFS, I had still not had a set “team” for my wedding day. I had decided to cancel services for my October wedding in July for various reasons, and also requested a refund at that time. Derek immediately reached out, threatening legal action. Furthermore, in order to provide me a 50% refund he would require me to sign an NDA as to not say anything negative about the company (which I’m assuming is why you can’t find many negative reviews anywhere). Furthermore, I am strongly concerned that Derek is not handling payments correctly and has clearly utilized Venmo business payments incorrectly (possibly in an attempt to avoid business fees and consumer protection). Overall, the time leading up to one of the happiest days of my life has been nothing but stress (and continues to be). FFS is a shotty company who care only about money, regardless if they ruin your big day. I strongly believe that Derek is a scam artist and will likely try to get this review removed from view, which he has done to numerous brides that have worked with him in the past. Please read this and look up honest reviews through sites he cannot sensor if you are considering them for your wedding.

My husband and I hired Falcon Film Studios to provide the DJ and photographer for our wedding, and we were very disappointed with the service we received. The communication from the company was just okay, but the quality of their work and customer service was terrible. The photographer we were assigned showed up two hours late on the day of our wedding and had a poor attitude the entire time he was there. He took low-quality photos and ended up leaving after only 3 hours, even though we had paid for 6 hours of coverage. When we followed up with him afterwards, he falsely claimed that I had told him to leave early, which never happened. After reaching out to the owner, Derek, he promised to send us the raw photos and provide some compensation, but we have not been able to get in touch with him in the 3 months since our wedding. Overall, the service from Falcon Film Studios fell far short of our expectations for such an important day.

My wedding was October 5th, 2024, in Michigan and I booked Falcon Film Studios for my photographer and DJ. The week before our wedding, I was informed by Derek that we would have a “Final Consultation” phone call Monday September 30th, 2024, between the hours of 9AM and 5PM. I received a phone from my DJ call not Monday, but a couple days before my wedding which was very stressful. Never heard from my photographer. On our wedding day, not only was our photographer late arriving, but it was not the photographer I was assigned. When our photographer finally showed up, he said to me “did Derek tell you that your photographer was not able to make it anymore?” I said no, I never received an email from Derek, nor Falcon Film Studios that my assigned photographer was no longer attending. When we booked Falcon Film Studios what they promise is a “suitable back up staff for emergencies”. The photographer that they sent me was a 16-year-old and I started to notice his inexperience right away. He told my husband that of the 2,200.00 USD that we paid, he gets paid 750.00 USD to photograph and edit our photos. He did not know what hand our rings were on and put us directly in the sunlight for photos. This is what Falcon Film Studios considers to be a suitable back up staff for emergencies, simply unacceptable! After our wedding, I knew what Falcon Film Studios promised, “1 Week Delivery of Fully Edited Photos” and to my surprise they did not meet this. I received edited photos; however, the standard of those photos is very poor. For the sunset photos, the sunset background is primarily white, it was a beautiful sunset and he edited it complete out, there are red dots from the lens on my husband’s face and suit, the edit he used made mine and others makeup look like Halloween makeup, all my first dance photos are extremely dark and where the photographer told the bridal party and family to go for photos, all the photos have shadows all over our outfits and face, my husband’s beautiful white shirt is blue in most photos, and he didn’t edit anything out of the background. When I received the photos, I felt so discouraged and disappointed. So, I emailed Derek from Falcon Film Studios for him to make this right. He promised me re-edited photos in 3 days and a week and half later, I got an email… no photos included, just a ridiculous agreement. Derek sent me an agreement that he wanted both my husband and I to sign. The agreements state I must withdraw any previous comments or statements I said about Derek or Falcon Film Studios, that I cannot make any additional comments or reviews. The agreement had unfair terms and conditions. I did not feel as though Derek was being fair and reasonable when discussing his company, the customer service was the worse I have ever experienced. Derek offered us a 300 refund, because he said he stands behind the delivery I received. Which I found to be a slap in the face and was so disheartening. That agreement does not benefit the customer in any way, why would one sign a contract that does not benefit them without seeing a delivered product? For Falcon Film Studios to provide any remedy, they will make you and your partner sign this agreement. An agreement that you will have sign before seeing any product, agree that it is complete (even if you haven’t seen the completed product), and you wave your right to have any further issues with the product. This is not okay, this is not fair, not honourable, and not reasonable.
