Q: Do you learn new songs?

YES! This is one of our specialities. Although we already have a HUGE range of music in our catalog and in our knowledge from working in music, we LOVE learning new songs for an event. Our founder is musically trained and is used to learning new songs to actually perform in a short time, so this is second nature to us.

Q: How early do you come to set up?

We arrive minimum of 2hrs in advance of guests and the event starting. Why? Because we like to allow time for any unexpected changes that can occur in a venue or anything else that may come up. We like to be set up and ready to go early so that your event begins in a calm and smooth way.

Q: Do you take music requests?

We certainly can....however, we like to check in with our couples or whoever hires us to see what their preference is. Some couples don't want us to take any requests. If you do, we are more than happy to take requests and will accommodate them as best as we can. We come to your event with thousands of songs, so 99.9% of the time we can play a request anyone asks for.

Q: What do you wear?

We always check with our clients what the dress code is. Most often we dress formal. We can color coordinate according to the color theme of the event if necessary and/or wear a particular style. We like to glam it up a bit, as we love style, so you may see us in some fabulous metallic pants at one event, or in a strapless ballgown at another. It just depends on the dress code.

Q: Do you provide music for wedding ceremonies or cocktail receptions?

We certainly do! We can provide stylish, low profile, speaker set ups for both ceremonies and cocktail receptions. We also can help you choose the perfect music for both these parts of the evening.

Q: Do you provide other services, such as lighting or photo booths?

We can provide uplighting and party dance floor lighting.

We are a WOMAN-OWNED and run boutique DJ Agency. We don't provide a cookie-cutter DJ service. We custom design the music to suit you and your fiance. We avoid the corny typical DJ experience so you get exactly what you want to hear at your wedding. We understand that DJing your event involves the perfect combination of bringing fun energy, choosing just the right music and being prepared. We always bring love and FUN to every event we are part of.

After working the events and service industry for years as a musician and DJ, our founder Gemma wanted to start the kind of DJ business she would have liked when she was planning her own wedding. Someone easy and fun to talk to, that understood her musical needs. We love working with couples to create the perfect soundtrack. We truly care about everyone we work with. We are really 'down to earth', we pay great attention to detail in the event planning, timeline and music playlists and we make sure every event is custom designed just for you.

We are a venue that has hosted Luvdup DJs for weddings and other private events over the years. They’re always pros… reaching out in advance to coordinate details / timing / logistics. We appreciate their professionalism and reliability. They’re timely, and also bring high-end equipment that sounds fantastic in our space. But perhaps more importantly, they get people on the dance floor all night, and keep the party jamming! It’s always fun when they’re in the house. Last weekend we had Ty for a wedding and he was nothing less than an all-star. This team is always welcome at Mess Hall.

We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for our wedding! From the moment we booked Gemma at LuvDup, she was incredibly supportive, responsive, and professional. She made the whole planning process feel effortless and did a great job sharing guidance along the way. On our wedding day, she brought amazing energy and did a great job reading the crowd to keep everyone dancing all night. We also really appreciated Gemma's help in launching a ppt slideshow showcasing our love story and playing music to match the slides. This meant a lot to us and Gemma was so supportive of this additional ask, and even gave us tips to think through. She is truly a very special and talented DJ. We highly recommend her for any occasion!!

Gemma was truly amazing every step of the way! She was so easy to work with and day of she was having just as much fun as all the guests! She had such a great variety of songs, played our favs, and sprinkled in her recommendations perfectly. I would hire Gemma again and again for my wedding if I could!

Gemma, who owns Luv’d Up DJs, was our DJ for our thirty person wedding recently and is my new favorite person on the planet. She is so talented, and really knows exactly how to engage a dance floor or get everyone to pay attention to something important (LOL). She absolutely killed it on wedding day — every song was perfect, she was so adaptable, and so engaged in the day. We didn’t stress at all about music knowing she was there!! Our dance floor felt like a bigger wedding because she was locked in on keeping everyone dancing — I don’t have many pictures because everyone was busy dancing but they had our crowd of accountants MOVING. That’s no small feat!! It’s also important to note that she was just as awesome throughout the planning process! We are indecisive people who have attended very few weddings, and she helped us through every decision. I cannot say enough how much better she helped us feel!! We were on the fence about having a DJ for such a small wedding and she was perfect. She fit right in with our guests and curated the perfect vibe. All the sound for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception (three separate locations!!) went so smoothly. I would make Gemma my emergency contact if I could. You will NOT regret booking Luv’d Up for your event!!
