As a wedding photographer in New York City, Tom has captured over 100 weddings! Together, we love to celebrate with you and your friends on one of the most exciting days of your lives. It brings us such joy to capture your wedding in an artistic way, not only telling your wedding story, but also making sure to bring warmth and friendliness (and a few laughs!) to the day.

    It’s taken us practically a year to write this review because it’s been so difficult to put into words just how amazing Tom Schelling is. Something someone told us before we got married was that the only thing you have from your wedding day are the pictures you’ve taken. Of course, the spouse and the memories, but the pictures are the only tangible thing you keep with you to look back on. So, when we started the process to find a photographer, it was very important to us that we found someone we were comfortable around, someone who truly felt like a friend- and that’s exactly how we felt (and still feel) about Tom and his wife Heather Schelling, whom we hired as videographer. Throughout the entire process, from signing the contracts, to shooting our engagement shoot on the opposite side of the country, to our wedding day, Tom and Heather have been there for us every step of the way. Tom has been so organized and communicative throughout the entire process and just so thoughtful in everything he does, from mailing us his wedding guide (super helpful) to the beautiful prints he sent once he completed editing. Like a lot of weddings, ours had some tough family dynamics to contend with. Tom handled the situation and everyone involved with such grace and professionalism, that we hardly noticed or felt any of the tension we expected, allowing our wedding day to flow that much more smoothly. On that same note, Tom was able to make any changes in schedule on the day of feel nonexistent as far as getting the photos done. All the scheduling, conversations, organization, planning, and worrying aside, the main part of the job, the photos themselves, was unmatched. We are continually so impressed with the quality of Tom’s work, and would recommend him over and over again.

    Such an amazing talent and eye Tom has, that show through his beautiful artistry of photography. He has a very clean, natural beautiful look to his work that just draws your attention, just such detail into every shot. Vendors & his clients alike enjoy working along with him as his personal charm and no drama ways just makes you feel as your with a great friend. His wedding photography is just beautiful to view and timless. I've know Tom for several years now and really enjoy all of his work and he always does something different for each couple. Great choice hands down.

    Tom Schelling is class, personified. Our experience with working with Tom and his fiancé Heather the day of our wedding was seamless and perfect! He is super creative, relaxed and flexible, as well as efficient and organized.. essentially he checks every single box you could ever want in your wedding photographer! My husband and I arrived separately to a predetermined location in Central Park by Tom for a genuine first look, followed by a breathtaking shoot at nearby locations in the park, and finally our ceremony at Dene Summerhouse. The entire experience leading up to our actual ceremony not only eased our own anxieties, but we had so much fun! He took the “pressure and work” off of us through his ability to gently and creatively guide us through our photos and make us laugh along the way. Tom is a visionary, and has an eye for originality, class, and romance. His photography embodies iconic NYC as well. Tom was extremely helpful in planning the timeline of our special day, in choosing the photo and ceremony locations, and in organizing the shot list for family photos.
