At Weatherhead Hollow, a lovingly restored Southern Vermont farmstead, you’ll have exclusive access to a sprawling historic barn, gracious accommodations for 12, and beautiful mountain views — all over an unhurried weekend designed by you. Recognized in atHOME New England and The Sweet Spot Guide for its elegant, playful design, this isn’t your typical corporate venue. We host just 12 bespoke weddings each year (May – October), and when we’re not in celebration mode, we support Vermont’s creative economy through fully funded artist residencies. Just like our resident artists, you, too, will have the freedom to craft your weekend, unhindered and unforgettable.

A historic barn for ceremonies, cocktails, and chandelier-lit celebrations.

Our lovingly restored bank barn – a rare Vermont design built into the hillside – anchors the property. Inside, a dramatic 40×60 event hall with chandeliers seats up to 150 with a dance floor, alongside an adjoining corncrib bar with vintage character. Just outside, the barnyard flows naturally into rolling fields and a 200+ year old maple tree ceremony site framed by lattices with flowering vines, and sweeping views of the hollow.

From the moment we first inquired about hosting our wedding at Weatherhead Hollow, the team was responsive, kind, and incredibly thoughtful in their approach. They asked all the right questions to ensure every aspect of our special day was well-planned and executed flawlessly. Being able to enjoy the space from Thursday- Sunday allowed us to truly soak up all of the emotions and made it so we could truly enjoy our wedding day with the majority of setup being done the days before. On the day of, their attention to detail was truly magical - they made sure all signage was perfectly placed to guide our guests, and the flow of the event from the historic homes to the dreamy barn and cocktail hour space was seamless. The entire Weatherhead Hollow property has a historic yet whimsical feel that created the most romantic and memorable setting for our wedding. We cannot recommend this venue enough and would absolutely choose to have our wedding here again if we could.

If you're looking for a bucolic and intimate place to get married where only your guests are on site among the beautiful rolling hills of Vermont, you should absolutely consider Weatherhead Hollow. Every space at this picturesque venue has been artfully crafted and evidence of Katherine and Daniel's exceptional creativity and attention to detail is everywhere. The landscape is beautiful and romantic and also begs for you to take it slow and enjoy the moments that will create an unforgettable wedding celebration for you and your guests.

I always look forward to photographing engagement photos and weddings at Weatherhead Hollow. The setting is beautiful—the barn, the various houses, and the surrounding area—and both Katherine and Daniel are a delight to work with. There is a genuine patina of history throughout the property—a photographer's dream—coupled with an elegance and artistry that is the perfect backdrop for engagement and wedding images. My experience of photographing at Weatherhead Hollow is that the final images are not only going to reflect the natural beauty of Vermont, but also the joy the wedding party and guests experience in such a special place.

Our peak season is September and October, when Vermont’s foliage is at its most breathtaking. We also host weddings from late May through August at a lower seasonal rate. We do not offer weddings November – April.

No – all alcohol service must be provided by a Vermont-licensed bar catering service.

Yes – we have plenty of parking for your guests, although if you plan to serve alcohol, we do encourage you to hire a shuttle for your guests. We have great car service suggestions, and during a tour you'll get a solid sense of the flow of the farmstead.

Yes – our barn is ADA accessible and equipped with outdoor ramps. Please note that this is a historic farmstead: while lawns, gardens, and patios are generally flat, the ground does naturally undulate and all driveways are gravel.

Our couples enjoy unhurried, all-day access to the barn during their wedding weekend. Unlike venues that book multiple weddings, you’ll have the entire Weatherhead Hollow Farmstead exclusively for setup, celebration, and farewells. Our farmstead is located 1hr 15min from Bradley International Airport in Connecticut, 2hrs from Albany International Airport in Albany, NY, and 2hrs 15min from Logan International Airport in Boston, MA. We are conveniently located 10minutes from the Amtrak Train Station in Brattleboro, VT where there is one train a day, or for a more frequent train schedule, we are 20min from the Amtrak Train Station in Greenfield, MA. Public Transportation is not available, and you won't find Uber or Taxi services either. Our Vendor List has a selection of local car service options available.

Our base rates include everything you need for a full wedding weekend – exclusive use of the barn and grounds, housing for 12, and multiple event opportunities. Optional add-ons include extending your stay, celebrating until midnight, or arranging extra nearby accommodations. Full details are outlined in our FAQ and Wedding Brochure.

We require each couple to designate a planner or coordinator for the weekend, but unlike most venues, you won’t just see us turn the lights on and walk away. As property hosts, we’re present throughout the weekend – greeting guests, guiding parking, lighting the fire pit, and helping vendors settle in. Long before the weekend, we help couples assemble their team, reviewing our trusted vendor list and offering thoughtful recommendations. We don’t run your timeline, but we do step in for small, event-related issues and share insider advice from our years of experience. Many couples find our support a valuable complement to formal planning.
